'God's Plan, God's Power' is a seven part study series which looks at various aspects of Christian faith and practice. It is also available as a single volume under the same title. In the first part of the series, the author looks at the origins and purposes of the Bible as God's Word to us, and why it is so important to read, understand, abide in, and feed off its teachings. In the second part, the covenant promises made between Father and Son, and then between God and humanity are explored. It is upon these covenants that all our hope as Christians rests.The third part is a study of the Book of Hebrews, revealing Jesus, the Christian's great High Priest. Part four looks at who we (as individuals and as the Church) are in Christ, our rights and privileges, and how to live our lives honouring and serving Him, through the teaching of Paul's letter to the Ephesians. Part five continues to look at the Christian's experience of new life. It begins with baptism, by water and by fire through the Holy Spirit. It then looks at how turning away from our old ways and learning to co-operate with the work of the Holy Spirit within us is the key to outliving the life of Christ in the world.Part six considers prayer from a Biblical perspective, drawing on examples of prayer from both Old and New Testament saints, as well as encouraging us in our own personal prayer life.The final part, Part seven, concerns issues of Christian practice, including some historical viewpoints, and the life-changing reality of living out the Christian faith. As a unit, the entire series offers information and insight to Christians in an easily understandable way. It was written with the ordinary Christian in mind - presenting information in a down-to-earth manner for discussion, or debate, or just out of general interest. Whatever the readers' initial motivation for engaging with this series, a clearer, faith-enlarging, life-changing vision of Jesus Christ and God's saving hand should be the outcome.
